This is the second one I've seen in about a month and I'm thrilled. Even shooting starts are very rare to me - I almost never see them. But this one was BIG, not a fast little streak high in the sky.

The glowing trail was about 3 to 5 lengths of the "ball" at the front. The angle of descent wasn't very steep. It was almost a flat horizontal line in the sky.

I thought it was a very bright helicopter spotlight flying low until it started leaving little chunks behind and flared out.
