Remarks | We were driving along Trig Road, then to my left I saw the whole sky light up blue for about 2 to 3 seconds, then I looked up and saw the clouds had gone black, and the sky behind them was light up. Then my attention was drawn to an explosion of light, the fireball, it was huge, way bigger than a satellite or shooting star, like 1000 times bigger than a shooting star. The fireball was low in the sky, quite slow moving with a orange front and a white/light yellow/white tail. It looked like it either landed in the Kaipara Harbour, or possibly inland and east of Pouto Lighthouse. |
